Can you lose weight in Ramadan?🤷‍♀️

“At Gymnadz countless woman have proved that you can maintain a healthy diet (with desserts here and there) and lose weight during Ramadan. Here are some tips for healthy weight loss during Ramadan:
1. Eat a balanced iftar meal but in the right order: To maintain a healthy weight, it’s important to eat a balanced meal that includes a variety of nutrient-dense foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats. If you follow the right food order it can really help you to lose weight during Ramadan. In the Gymnadz Ramadan food program we love to start Iftar with the Ramadan tonic – a tradition that science has since proved is a perfect way to prevent insulin spikes. Follow through with a salad before your soup to continue with the order of absorbing insulin spikes and getting that fiber in which also helps with healthy weight loss.
2. Avoid consuming too many high-calorie drinks: During Ramadan, it can be tempting to consume sugary drinks and juices when breaking the fast, but these can be high in calories and can contribute to weight gain, moodiness and drowsiness post iftar. Instead, try to drink plenty of water, herbal teas, and other low-calorie drinks. There are many choices in the Gymandz app whether you’re looking to have a smoothie or just a hydrating water tonic.
3. Incorporate physical activity: You must keep your muscles active and your insulin receptors healthy during this month. Your muscle is your ticket to soaking up the excess desserts you may have and keep your metabolism running well. It’s important to maintain physical activity during Ramadan.
4. Practice portion control: Be mindful of portion sizes, especially when breaking the fast. Eat slowly and listen to your body’s cues to avoid overeating. I avoid going to re-fill my plate.
5. Get enough rest: Adequate rest is important for overall health and well-being, and it can also help with weight loss. Aim to get enough sleep, you may need to nap during the day to avoid disruptions in your metabolism.

Overall, healthy weight loss during Ramadan involves maintaining a balanced and nutrient-dense diet, staying active, practicing portion control, and getting adequate rest.
